Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm Hosts Shop for
a Cause - CASA of Collin County
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of
Collin County held a pre-gala Valentine shopping
event at Watters Creek
at Montgomery Farm
in Allen, Texas on Thursday, February 4, 2010.
Thanks to the generosity of retail sponsors;
Filthy Rich Celebrity Jewelry, Panacea, Flirt
Boutique, Jean Junkie, Swoozies and ApricotLane
CASA supporters were out in force to patronize
these stores. Shoppers were rewarded not only
in the great selection of special Valentine
gifts for purchase, but also in knowing that
20% of the day’s sales would be donated to CASA
of Collin County, a nonprofit agency serving
abused children removed from unsafe homes.
Also participating with the contribution of 20%
of their food sales for the day, Village Burger
Bar did a brisk business as CASA supporters,
enjoyed delicious meals or snacks throughout the
day.
The funds raised
will support the CASA of Collin County 2010
Voice for Children Gala, the single largest
annual fundraiser for the organization. Along
with the funds raised, each
of the sponsor participants provided a drawing
for fabulous door prizes awarded to lucky
shoppers. Refreshments were provided throughout
the day, including Valentine decorated cookies
donated by Market Street.
A special reception was held featuring a
progressive wine and cheese event, beginning at
the Village Burger Bar. Guests then proceeded
to Panacea, where they enjoyed toasts and a
sneak peak at the newest jewelry fashion trends
like the bib necklace raffled to a fortunate
guest! Filthy Rich provided a gift certificate
for a celebrity replica jewelry piece – the
perfect accessory for the upcoming March 6th
Gala, themed “Hooray for Hollywood!” Other
sponsor gifts or certificates included Flirt
Boutique, “For a "flirty" outfit for a romantic
Valentine date; Jean Junkie, with a certificate
for the whole family to be fitted in denim
attire; Swoozie's, special wine glasses, and ApricotLane,
where shoppers were offered an array of unique
fashions, jewelry, handbags and accessories.
Thanks to everyone who came out to shop and dine
on Thursday, February 4th with the
retail and restaurant sponsors at Watters Creek
at Montgomery Farm whose gracious sponsorship of
the Valentines Shopping event benefitted CASA of
Collin County. It is especially gratifying to
support those merchants whose philanthropy gives
back to the community they serve.
