CASA board members, staff and supporters
gathered for a holiday kick-off and pre-Gala
event on December 15th
at the Neiman Marcus Willow Bend store in Plano.
Thanks to Neiman Marcus PR manager, Chuck
Steelman, guests enjoyed a wonderful breakfast
at Neiman Marcus Mariposa Restaurant.
Voice for Children Gala chairs, Jenni Tran and
Cheryl Buckles, welcomed everyone, introducing
the CASA staff attendees, Susan Etheridge,
Executive Director; Kathy Blank, Development
Director; Susie Addison, Events Manager; and
Sharon Margulieux, Development Assistant,
praising the outstanding job these ladies do as
they help execute the very important mission of
protecting and advocating on behalf of abused
and neglected children in Collin County.
Cheryl and Jenni shared highlights of the
upcoming Saturday evening, March 6, 2010 Gala,
extending an invitation to attendees to support
the Gala with auction solicitations and
donations as well as an invitation to attend the
Voice for Children Gala.
Guests then proceeded to a beautifully staged
runway fashion show on the store’s second level,
where they were served egg nog or peppermint
martinis, beautifully frosted and decorated
petit fours, miniature white Christmas tree
cupcake towers and more.
As guests were seated along the red carpet
runway, Chuck Steelman and store manager, Marcus
Wyss, proceeded to introduce emcee and fashion
impresario, Ken Downing.
Ken Downing, Neiman Marcus Senior Vice President
and Fashion Director, attends over 600 runway
fashion shows a year in Milan, Paris, London and
New York working with Neiman’s buying and
merchandising offices to bring the latest in
luxury fashion trends to their upscale market.
Ken Downing provided an entertaining and
insightful commentary on fashion trends,
transitioning from the fall emphasis on
motorcycle jackets, leggings, leopard prints,
poppy reds, layered knits and textures to a
glimpse of spring fashion trends – blue tones,
bold prints and vivid colors, soft silhouettes.
Each model’s runway walk ended with a male
model’s presentation of a beautifully boxed
holiday gift from Neiman’s gift gallery.
The fashion show closed with a fabulous preview
of cocktail and evening gowns – ideal for the
upcoming Voice for Children Gala – blue silk,
satin and sequins were accessorized with nude
shoes and the layering of bright and bold
statement jewelry for impact.
Our thanks to Neiman Marcus Willow Bend for
hosting a fun and fabulous fashion event kicking
off our Voice for Children Gala.
